One of my favorite tv shows is Undercover Boss. I cry every time I watch it.

I think what moves me the most is when CEOs give in life-changing ways.

In a recent episode I watched, the CEO of Walk-ons (a large restaurant chain) gave a dishwasher over $30,000 to get out of college debt.

I often daydream about all the ways I’d help others if I made it to the top.

Then, I had a Eureka moment (which is usually accompanied by a large cup of coffee).

You don’t have to be ridiculously wealthy to change somebody’s life. You can be someone’s Undercover Boss right now.

Start with something small that doesn’t cost you anything.

Here are some ideas:

  1. Introduce two people in your network who can do big things together
  2. Tell the stellar performer on your team how amazing they are and give specific examples.
  3. Be present with someone you love for 5 minutes and really listen to them.
  4. Tell one of your friends how they have inspired you recently.
  5. Offer to have coffee with someone who is going through a difficult time.

Do you think CBS is casting and they’d just give me some money to share? I’m just asking for a friend.
